Harry was the sixth of twelve children of George Green (b1849 in Cork, Ireland) and Margaret (Mary) Hustler (b1852 in Pleasant Creek, Stawell, Victoria). George (a Labourer) and Mary married in 1873 in Pleasant Creek and settled in Mt Rouse in Penshurst, Victoria. 

Harry was a Labourer when he enlisted in the AIF in March 1915. He served as a Private and Trooper (Service No:1226) with 23rd Infantry Battalion and 4th and 13th Light Horse Regiments at Gallipoli Peninsular. He was Discharged as Medically Unfit in May 1916.

Returning to Melbourne, Harry was a Labourer in 1917 when he married Susan Jane Wallace (b1886 in Devenish, Victoria) - Susan was working as a Waitress in Melbourne. Harry and Susan settled in Melbourne where Harry worked as a Labourer and Stoker and in June 1941 enlisted in the ACMF. He was a Private/Orderley (Service No:V16769) attached to 115 General Hospital when he was Discharged in March 1942 (Medically Unfit).

Harry and Susan remained in Melbourne, Victoria where Harry worked as a Stoker. He died in 1963 and Susan in 1970.
