Biography

McWATERS -In sad and loving memory of our dear son and brother Private W. R. McWaters, 24th Reinf, 8th Battalion, who died (hemorrhage) in France on the 25th February, 1918.
Far away from all his loved ones,
Soldiers gently laid him to rest:
In a faraway grave he is sleeping,
One of God s dearest and best.
Somewhere in France he is lying:
He answered his country's call:
He died, an Australian hero,
Fighting, to save us all.
You are not forgotten, Willie,
For true love never dies,
The dearest spot on earth
Is where our darling Willie lies.
-(Inserted by his loving mother sisters, and brothers.)
