LCpl Richard George Roberts, 8th Infantry Battalion. Born 4.3.1892, Stockton, New South Wales, John Morgan and Elizabeth Roberts; husband of Ethel J Roberts nee Pond, married 1921, Raymond Terrace, N.S.W., died 1.2.1945, 22 Chatham Road, Georgetown, N.S.W., age 42. A labourer from Glenelg Street, Raymond Terrace, New South Wales, enlisted 7.11.1916, Newcastle, N.S.W., 8th Battalion, Reg No-6841, wounded in action - 20.9.1917 (GSW face), 9.8.1918 (GSW neck), RTA invalided 27.2.1919, died 18.10.1972, age 80, Plaque in New South Wales Garden of Remembrance, officially commemorated – https://connect.dva.gov.au/.../viewCommemoration.html..., also resting at the Sandgate cemetery, METHODIST 4-09. 61.
