Commenced return to Australia on 11 January 1918 aboard HS Port Darwin disembarking on 7 March 1918

Husband of Elsie O'Brien formerly Cropp nee  Allum of Garrard Square, Greyfriars Road, Reading, Berkshire, England. Thomas and Elsie married on 7 July 1917 in the Registry Office, Reading, England. Registrar Charles Moss officiated.

Granted paid leave between 16 May 1919 and to study Core Making with the Great Northern Railway, Kings Cross, England

Commenced return to Australia on 6 October 1919  aboard HT Pakeha disembarking on 24 November 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Sydney
