Biography contributed by Robert Wight

Following the horrendous fighting at Pozieres and Mouquet Farm, and also no doubt due to his age at the time (39), Pte Albert Scott was attached to the 4th Aust Field Ambulance Comforts Fund on 21 October 1916 (while remaining on 5th Battalion strength).

On 25 March 1917, while providing coffee to the soldiers from the Bapaume Town Hall, a German delayed-fuse mine exploded in the building, killing 25 men, including Pte Scott.
