George Sydney Baxter Pearce was born in the year of 1895, in Kent Town, South Australia, and lived there until he enlisted in the war. Before he enlisted in the war, he was a Clerk. He enlisted in the war 9th of August 1915, he was just over 20 years old.
At the time of his enlistment, George Pearce was 5 foot 5 and a half (166cm), and weighed 124 lbs (56kgs). He had a medium complexion with hazel eyes and dark hair.
George Pearce embarked for Marseilles, on the 29th of March 1916 and disembarked there on the 4th of April 1916. During his time at war he was a member of the 10th Battalion. He was then admitted sick into hospital in May 1916 and was transferred to England for treatment. He returned to the field in September but in October he became ill again and was once more sent to hospital with recovering in England until October 1917 when he was again sent to France.
Sadly, on the 3rd of June, in the year 1918, George Sydney Baxter Pearce was killed in action.
