EDWARD CHARLES STEVENS, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. D. Stevens, was born at Bathurst, New South Wales, on 13th April, 1896, and proceeding to England at an early age, he was educated at the City of London School. He entered the service of the Bank on I st December, 1914, at London, and enlisted as a member of the B.E.F. on I st July, 1915, at Inns of Court, 0. T. C. In December, 1915, he attained the rank of second lieutenant in the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.
