Brother of Albert James Oliver who returned to Australia on 13 July 1916 having served with the 3rd Light Horse Regiment and Richard James Oliver who returned to Australia on 9 May 1919 having served with the 3rd Light Horse Regiment

Commenced return to Australia on 8 May 1916 aboard HT Themistocles disembarking on 19 June 1916
