4 Oct 1994: Involvement Royal Australian Air Force, Wing Commander, O325130, HMAS Tobruk, Operation Lagoon - The South Pacific Peacekeeping Force(SPPKF). Initially based at Buka airfield as part of a RAAF Fly Away Sugical Team (FAST) then aboard HMAS Tobruk in Arawa Harbour. Was on Seaking 07 performing a medevac of a GSW victim when it was hit twice by small arms fire from the ground.

1 Apr 1998: Involvement Wing Commander, O325130, Operation Bel-Isi 1. Was a member of the Truce Monitoring Group based at Loloho Wharf just outside Arawa. Participated in rotary wing medevacs and treatment of local persons as well as members of the TMG.
1 Sep 1998: Involvement Wing Commander, O325130, Op Bel-Isi 2 - was a member of the Peace Monitoring Group. Based at Loloho Wharf outside Arawa. Involved intreating both local people and PMG personell.
22 Sep 1999: Involvement Royal Australian Air Force, Group Captain, INTERFET, East Timor - INTERFET (International Force for East Timor) / UNTAET (United Nations Transitional Authority, East Timor)

12 Oct 2002: Involvement Royal Australian Air Force, Wing Commander, O325130, Bali Bombings 2002 response. Critically injured patient management and transport. Involved in qeromedical evacuation coordination and transport from Darwin to all Australian Burns centres (Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth) using a combinationof civilian and military aircraft.
27 Dec 2004: Involvement Royal Australian Air Force, Wing Commander, O325130, Operation Tsunami Assist - response to the 2004 Boxing Day Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami. Specialist member of RAAF Critical Care Aeromedical Evacuation Team. Initially part of RAAF Air Lift Group / 36 SQN response under the command of GPCAPT John Oddie. WGCDR Griggs was on the first C130 to land inBanda Aceh post tsunami. Along with WGCDRs Allan MacKillop, Greg Norman, and Geoff Robinson, WGCDR Griggs undertook an initial health needs assessment for Banda Aceh which resulted in a massive Australian and International response. Subsequently the ADF response became CJTF 629. In the initial days of the response WGCDR Griggs led a joint multinational triage facility at Banda Airport for both inbound and outbound patients. He was sunsequently involved in triage, treatment and the aeromedical evacuation of multiple patients. For his work he was awarded a Chief of Deefnce Force Commendation.
1 Oct 2005: Involvement Royal Australian Air Force, Group Captain, O325130, Bali Bombings 2005. Aeromedical response and evacuation of critically injured patients from Denpasar to Darwin.

Peacekeeping Service

20 Feb 2007: Involvement Group Captain, O325130, Operation Astute - Specialist Medical Officer based in Dili. Tasked on 7 March to repond to the crash of Garuda 200 (737-400) at Yogyakarta with 10 Australians on board.

Non Warlike Service

7 Mar 2007: Involvement Group Captain, O325130, Emergency medical response to assess and assist in the management and evacuation plans of (particularly Australian) victims of the crash of GA-200 (737-200) at Yogyakarta Airport on 7 March 2007. Dispatched from Dili in Timor Leste by C130 due to proximity.
16 Apr 2009: Involvement Group Captain, O325130, Medical response to the explosion and mass burn casualty event involving suspected Illegal Entry Vessel - SIEV-36 at Ashmore Reef. Senior ADF specialist aeromedical evacuation officer in the ADF medical teams sent to Truscott Air Base in WA to manage, resuscitate and eventually retrieve 18 critically injured patients to Royal Perth Hospital by C130.
10 Dec 2009: Promoted Royal Australian Air Force, Group Captain, Acting rank of GPCAPT (appointed early 2005) confirmed as substantive rank on 10 December 2009
