Son of Charles Frederick MacLAREN and Amy nee EDGAR
Flying Officer Maclaren perished in the crash of 218 Squadron's Vickers Wellington IA (#P9207) bomber aircraft. The Wellington went down about 4 miles N of Marham; Flying Officer Maclaren was the only member of the Wellington's crew to lose his life in this flight training accident.
Perth Pilot Killed with R.A.F. In England
Advice has been received in Perth that Flying Officer Phillip MacLaren of the Royal Air Force, was killed on active service in England last week. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. C.F. MacLaren, of Rheola Street, West Perth. Mr. MacLaren is manager of the fuel oil department of the Vacuum Olic Co., Pty. Ltd.
Flying Officer MacLaren was 25 years of age. He was educated at Christ Church Grammar School, Claremont, and went to Entland to join the R.A.F. tow years before the war started. During the last year he carried out many raids in Germany, but recently he had been on instructional duty.
