"Mr Chas. Haskew, of Narandera, has been informed by the military authorities that his son, Private Herbert Haskew, who was previously wounded was reported wounded and missing since May 3rd." - from the Riverine Grazier 27 Jul 1917 (nla.gov.au)

"Killed in Action.— We offer our heartfelt sympathy to Mr. C. Haskew, of this town, who this week received the sad news that his son, Gunner Herbert Haskew, was killed in action. Some months ago word was received that Gunner Haskew was missing, and no further news was received of his whereabouts until this  week. Gunner Haskew enlisted early last year.
