Charles Laffin sailed on the Mooltan in May 1915. He served in the Gallipoli campaign in the 3rd AGH and the 6th Field Ambulance. He later served with the 1st AGH in Egypt and the No 1 AAH at Harefield. He did officer training at Cambridge and became a Lieutenant.
After WW1 he continued to serve his fellow soldiers, and their widows and children, as a volunteer and a chamber magistrate. He continued to serve them in WW2 as officer in charge of the Bonniebrae convalescent home.
