Son of Francis T. and Ada Harriett Buchanan of 27 Leake Street, North Perth, WA

Medals: 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

Previously served in the Officer Training Corps, Framlingham, England. At the age of 18 he served as a  volunteer in the 37th Battery, WA Field Artillery, with the rank of Sergeant for about 2 years prior to enlisting.
