Son of Henry Charles Barnes, Nhill, Victoria

The death occurred at the residence of his parents, Trugainini Road, Carnegie, last Friday, of Albert Henry (Bert) Barnes, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry G. Barnws, late of Nhill. Deceased, who was 27  years of age, joined up with the 14th Battalion in 1914 and took part in the historic Gallipoli campaign. He also saw ac tive service on the Western battle front wihere he was gassed, and suffered from  the effects after returning to Australia.
