Son of Charles William Pegler and Sarah Ann Pegler nee Taylor of Moyston Street, Castlemaine, Victoria. Brother of Alice Mary Pegler, Esther Louisa Pegler, Gertrude Pegler, Emma Pegler and Augustus William Pegler who returned to Australia on 19 October 1918 having served with the 7th Battalion
