Son of Robert Ubank and Alberta Ubank nee Moore of 'Pie Creek', Gympie, QLD. Brother of Samuel Joseph Ubank who was killed in action on 27 June 1917 while serving with the 41st Battalion and has no known grave. His name appears on Panel 27, Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres
Commenced return to Australia on 12 May 1918 aboard HT Gaika disembarking on 5 July 1918 at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane
