Wilton Gainsford Evans

Wilton Gainsford Evans was the youngest and tenth child of Walter Glendower and Sarah Evans. On enlistment he as assigned to the 13th Battalion of the Australian Infantry Forces, and left Australia on the "Beltana" on the 25th November 1916. He was killed in action at Villers-Bretonneux on 4th April 1918. He has no known grave but listed on memorial panel 69 of the Villers-Bretonneux memorial. Walter and Sarah were informed of his death in mid May of 1918. His personal effects were never returned to them, being on the ship "Barunga" - sunk by the enemy on the way back to Australia, with the loss of all cargo.
