Return to Australia aboard HT 'Beltana', 18 October 1917; disembarked Melbourne, 10 December 1917, for onward travel to Brisbane; discharged (medically unfit - gunshot wounds to the back), Brisbane, 19 January 1918.
Buried at Rabaul European Cemetery and reburied Rabaul (Bita Paka) Cemetery, East New Britain.
