"...3375 Private Herbert John Irving, 11th Battalion, of Kojonup, WA. A farmer prior to enlistment, Pte Irving embarked with the 11th Reinforcements from Fremantle on HMAT Ulysses on 2 November 1915. Later promoted to the rank of sergeant, Irving was killed in action on 7 May 1917 in France, aged 24." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
