7 Mar 1918: | Honoured Military Medal, For 36 hours during the operations near GLENCORSE WOOD east of YPRES on the 20th and 21st September 1917, Pte. THOMAS continually carried messages from his platoon strong post to Company Headquarters over a shell swept area. His personal bravery and devotion to duty were of the highest order and were largely responsible for the maintenance of communication with Battalion Headquarters. |
