"At Pozieres, France, during operations from 19-22 August 1916
near Mouquet Farm, showed great gallantry and devotion to duty,
were stretcher-bearers during the whole period, without rest,
carried on their work, at times under very heavy shell fire,
thereby getting the wounded out of the danger zone and saving
many lives."
