Biography contributed by Paul Trevor

'PRIVATE I. R. ROBINSON.

Though Private Robinson stated he came from Gympie he will be remembered in Toowoomba as full back to the Pittsworth football team, and when spoken to and reminded of those days he said, "Yes, and poor old Harry Stumm is gone." It is mentioned that Private Harry Stumm was Pittsworth's best forward and made the great sacrifice last year in France. He was for some time engaged as school teacher at Yarranlea and upon his enlistment he was allotted to the 52nd Battalion. He spent 12 months on active service and fell ill and was invalided back to Australia.' from Darling Downs Gazette 7 Jul 1917 (nla.gov.au)
