Bdr Hooke's work has been consistently of a high order. He is always among the first to volunteer when parties of runners are called for from Batteries. Son of Frederick Augustus Hooke and Sibylla Jane Hooke of 'Dingadee', Dungog, NSW
Brother of Alfred Augustus Hooke who returned to Australia on 25 November 1917 having served it with 20th Battalion and Benjamin Hooke who returned to Australia on 30 September 1919 at his own expense having served with the 1st Field Artillery Brigade
Commenced return to Australia on 25 November 1917 aboard HS Karoola (shrapnel wound to the head) disembarking on 13 January 1918
