Letter to Holton relatives

I am writing purely on the off chance this coin may be of interest to your Regiment or as a museum piece, this coin has been with us for many years in a Jar of old coins that my Wife received from friends. [see coin in photos]

On looking Online we have seen mention of the above E G Holton also a group picture, if it is of any interest to yourselves or even possibly a family member of E G Holton we will gladly send it over. (We are not looking for any renumeration)

I dont know any History on it but presume it was done when he was in France ( although the C E at the end we thought may have been Cairo Egypt )  but only a guess on our part. My Wife Caroline and myself stay in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. UK just outside the local market town of Turriff.

If this is of any value to Australia then let us know, or if not yourselves any ideas would be welcome.

Kind Regards, Alan/Caroline

Reply to Alan and Caroline

Dear Alan & Caroline, I've been doing a lot of family tree research & happened to come across your letter on this site. Edward (Ted) Gordon Holton is my Great Uncle from Adelaide. It would mean a great deal to reunite this coin back to the Holton family. My Grandpa & Ted were brothers. My email address is;

if you would like to contact me for more information.

Thank you for holding onto it. Yours Sincerely, Anne Coveney.

Additional reply to Alan and Caroline

Hi, my name is Timothy Holton and I am the youngest grandson of Edward Gordon Holton. I have all of his war medals and some photos from his service in world war 1. It would be great to add this coin to the collection to remember my grandfather and eventually pass on to my son Zane Holton. My email address is;
