Frank Churchman WEYGANG was born on 15th July, 1894 in St Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands
His parents were Louis Gustav WEYGANG and Sarah Ann CHURCHMAN
He came to Australia as an unassisted immigrant on the ship 'Norseman' in November, 1911 aged 17 years
Frank enlisted on 24th February 1915 in Liverpool, NSW as a Private with the 19th Australian Infantry Battalion, (B Company) - they embarked from Melbourne on HMAT Ceramic on 25th June, 1915
He was wounded twice, listed as missing & later Killed in Action on 14th November, 1916 at the Battle of Gueudecourt in France and buried in Warlencourt British Cemetery - his name is memorialised at the Australian War Memorial, the Maybury School Roll of Honour in England, the Woking Town Square Memorial and the Woking Christ Church in Surrey, England
He was awarded the 1914-15 Star, British War Medal & Victory Medal
