CORONER SENDS
MAN FOR TRIAL
TOWNSVILLE, Wednesday. — The Coroner (Mr. J. D. McLean) today concluded an inquest on John Bates and George Harold Curry, whose deaths resulted from a collision  between Australian and American trucks at the intersection of Stanley and Sturt streets on March 13.
Mr. McLean found that the collision was due to the negligence of Alexander Stuart Clark, driver of an Australian military truck, in failing to stop at the intersection as required  under the Traffic Acts and by not observing the rule of the road in allowing the vehicle upon his right side to pass in front of his vehicle.
Mr. McLean then formally charged Clark and committed him for trial. Bail was allowed.
