Full name John Alexander Ogilvie

Son of Horatius Blai Ogilvie and Esther Jane Ogilvie of Cambridge Street, Paddington, NSW.

Prior to enlisting John had served in the Naval Reserve from 16 August 1914 to 13 April 1915 with the rank of Able Seaman, service number 140.
