    "Private (later 2nd Lieutenant) Edward Roland Egan, 2nd Battalion, of Kempsey, NSW. Egan enlisted on 27 August 1914 and embarked from Sydney, NSW, aboard transport HMAT Suffolk (A23) on 18 October 1914. He was promoted to Lieutenant whilst serving on the Gallipoli peninsula, and died of wounds at Lone Pine on 14 August 1915." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
