Harold Charles RICHARDS was born at Bulla, Victoria during 1896 and was working as a carpenter when he joined the AIF on 17/7/1915.

His father, JG Richards lived at Greenvale, near Broadmeadows.

Harold left Australia on 11/10/1915 on board the HMAT Nestor as part of the 7th Battalion.

The Battalion left Egypt on 26/3/1916 and arrived in Marseilles on 31/3/1916 and travelled by train to the north of France. The Battalion fought at Pozieres,  Ypres and Dernancourt during 1916, and in 1917 went into the battles of Passchendaele.

During this battle Harold was killed in action at Glencorse Wood on 20/9/1917.

He is buried at Tyne Cot Cemetery, Belgium.
