Son of Catherine Oakes of High Street, Kew, Melbourne, Victoria.
Commenced return to Australia 31 January 1918 aboard HT Argyllshire then transhipped to HT Osterley at Cape Town, South Africa to Melbourne disembarking on 13 April 1918 for onward travel to Sydney
