Biography contributed by Faithe Jones

Arthur's parents were William John McKillop and Margaret Jane Hamilton, farmers at Redcliffe. Arthur attended Humpybong State School. At the time of his enlistment in January 1916 Arthur was a butcher and on his arrival in Egypt found himself for a time the only butcher for the Australian Forces in the Egyptian Desert. Arthur returned home and married Margaret McGahey in 1924. The couple had four children and ran a successful dairy business.
