Son of Joseph John Hush and Mary Ann Hush of Braidwood, NSW. Brother of Austin Septimus who was killed in action on 14 August 1916 while serving with the 4th Battalion and has no known grave. His name appears on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial.

Husband of Florence Ann Hush nee Martin of Selwyn Street, Paddington, NSW. Peter and Florence married during 1908c in Sydney, NSW

Commenced return to Australia on 23 March 1919 aboard HT Dongala disembarking on 16 May 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Sydney.
