Son of Christian George Ochse and Lucy Gregory Fly formerly Ochse nee Ings of Dorai Street, Rodsby, Jeppestown, Johannesburg, South Africa.
Commenced return to Australia on 22 July 1916 aboard HS Seeang Bee as nursing staff disembarking in Melbourne on 8 August 1916 later returning to the Western Front.
Not eligible for medals due to desertion
Post war Edward was employed with the railways before his life took a down turn. Last heard was during 1941 in the prison records.
It is not know when or how he returned to Australia.
On 20 November 1920 Edward married Doris Beatrice Stephenson in St James Church, West Adelaide, SA but later divorced. He later remarried which also ended in divorce.
