Private Edward Thomas Molloy (Service No:6613) enlisted in the AIF on 15 December 1916 and was attached to 25th Infantry Battalion 19th Reinforcement. Private Molloy embarked with 9th Infantry Battalion from Sydney on 7 January 1917 on board HMAT Wiltshire A18 for England. Private Molloy was WiA in France on two occasions - Poison Shell Gas and Gun Shot Wounds - and embarked for the RTA on 27 January 1919 on board HT Ceramic. Discharged on 25 April 1919, Private Molloy died 'surrounded by next of kin' (NAA) at Enoggera Camp Hospital in Brisbane, QLD on 19 August 1920.

Born in 1880 in London England, Edward was the eldest of five children of Edward Patrick Molloy (b1855 in London) and Caroline Stanley (b1856 in London). Edward Snr was a Coffee House Keeper in London when he married Caroline (a Collar Dresser) in 1879 in London, where they settled and raised their family.

Edward had served three years with 92nd London Rifles, and was a Packing Case Maker in London in 1901 when he married Gertrude May Blogg (b1882 in Norfolk, England). In 1908 Edward and Gertrude immigrated with three children, arriving in Brisbane QLD on board the Ormuz. The family settled in Bundaberg, QLD where Edward was a Carpenter prior to enlisting in the AIF.

Edward and Gertrude had eight children, whom Gertrude raised in brisbane QLD following Edward's death in 1919.
