"The Mayor of Rockhampton (Alderman Kingel) has received telegrams intimating that Sergeant John Wynd, son of Mrs. Margaret Wynd, of Kent-street, Rockhampton, was killed in action in France on October 20, and also Private Gordon Leslie Dunbar, in France, on October 24. Private Gordon was a son of Mrs. Margaret Duubar, of Kent-street. Sergeant Wynd saw service on Gallipoli." - from the Queenslander 17 Nov 1917 (nla.gov.au)
