Full name Michael Joseph O'Gorman but served a Michael O'Gorman.

Son of Thomas O'Gorman and Jane O'Gorman nee Hegeny of Melbourne, Victoria. 

He played footbal for the South Melbourne Football Club 1894 - 1898. In 1899-1900 he played for the St. Kilda Football Club and later he was an umpire. 

Michael also played cricket with the South Melbourne Irish National Foresters and St. John's Cricket Club and was also an active member the R.S.L.

Husband of Ethel O'Gorman nee Hughes of Oakleigh, Victoria

Commenced return to Australia on 17 April 1921 aboard  HT Bakia Castillio disembarking on 19 June 1920
