Karl Sainsbury ROCHSTEIN was born in Daylesford in Victoria in 1898
His parents were Samuel Redstone ROCHSTEIN & Alice Jane Amelia SAINSBURY

His brother Lieutenant Fritz Samuel ROCHSTEIN served during WW1 in the 8th Light Horse Regiment (SN 1858) and also in the 7th Infantry Battalion HQ (SN 5) and returned to Australia in 1919
