Biography contributed by Stephen Brooks

Edwin Robertson was one of two siblings killed during 1917. His older brother, 2134 Lance Corporal Albert George Robertson had died of wounds suffered at Messines during June 1917, also serving with the 40th Battalion AIF.

Their parents, Alexander and Johann Robertson, of Latrobe, Tasmania, had both passed away during 1907.

Edwin only joined his unit on the Western Front a month before he was killed near Passchendaele, Belgium.

His medals went to his oldest brother, David Roy Robertson.
