"...218 Lance Corporal Frederick O'Brien, 1st Battalion. A telephone mechanic from Cudal, New South Wales, prior to enlisting on 17 August 1914, L Cpl O'Brien transferred from B Company of the 1st Battalion to Signals. He embarked for overseas service aboard HMAT Afric (A19) on 18 October 1914. Cpl O'Brien was killed in action at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915, aged 21 years." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
