"...182 Private Alfred William Bryant. A clerk from Essendon, Victoria, prior to enlistment, he embarked from Melbourne with the 29th Battalion aboard HMAT Ascanius (A11) on 10 November 1915. Pte Bryant died of wounds in France on 7 August 1916. He was 22 years old." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
