He married Hilda Olive May ABBOTT in Western Australia in 1912 - two known children, Norris Duncan BAIN & Evan Oliver Colin BAIN

His brother Evan BAIN (SN 172) also served during WW1 with the 10th Light Horse Regiment and returned to Australia in 1917 - he also served during WW2 in the Volunteer Defence Corp (SN W74991)
His son Evan Oliver Colin BAIN (SN 16252) served in the Royal Australian Air Force during WW2 and was discharged in 1945
