Obituary - Mr. V. C. Smith
Mr. Victor Charles Smith, husband of Mrs. Elizabeth Smith, of Bishop’s House, Church Street, Wagga died at Wagga on Thursday. He was 72 years. Mr. Smith was born at Grafton, came to Wagga 22 years ago and was the Engineer at the Daily Advertiser. He served with the A.I.F. as a despatch rider during the 1st World War and during the 2nd World War, he was with the RAAF. Upon his retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Smith lived in a flat at the Bishop’s House where Mrs. Smith is housekeeper. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, seven grand-children and one great grandchild. Mr. Smith’s funeral will leave St Michael’s Cathedral, Wagga on Monday, March 5, 1973 at the conclusion of Requiem Mass commencing at 9.30 a.m. for interment in the Wagga Lawn Cemetery, arriving approximately 10.30 a.m. Arrangements by John Dwyer and Co., Wagga. - The Daily Advertiser, Wagga, issue dated Saturday March 3, 1973.
