George was the son of William Easter and Margaret Watson, who were living in Noojee, Victoria, after the war. He had six brothers and sisters, one of whom 2478 Sergeant William Watson, also served in the 24th Battalion AIF. William was also killed in action 5 October 1918, aged 28.
