Biography contributed by Faithe Jones

Son of Charles and Fanny BANNISER of Gugore Street, Claremont, WA.  Enlisting in 1917 he left Australian on the 24th November and on arrival in France joined the 16th Battalion.  On the 4th July 1918 during an engagement at Hamel (Vaire Wood) he received a gunshot wound in his left thigh.  Private Bannister returned to Austrlaia on the 1st February 1919.
