ANZAC Spirit
ANZAC spirit is the endurance, courage, ingenuity, good humour and mateship that the ANZACs made for their country. It is the spirit that kept them going and how they dedicated their life to fight for their country. They followed any order they were given, even if it was suicidal, and they did it for their country, they did it with pride and they did it so we could live freely in Australia. Their ANZAC spirit carried them onto the battlefield and made them sacrifice their life for Australia.
Anzac Broach
Anzac spirit is still carried on to today and all Australians feel the Anzac spirit and commemorate to remember the countless lives that were sacrificed for Australia and it is so important to not forget that they threw their lives to fight for Australia and we would not be the country we are without them. All Australians and New Zealanders have the Anzac spirit in their heart and will never forget the Anzacs.
“The Spirit of ANZAC is invincible. It is the flame that burns forevermore in the heart of every true Australian and New Zealander. Today we stand safe and free, clothed with all the privileges and rights of citizens in these great free countries.” (ANZAC Day commemoration committee)
Needham was an ANZAC and had the ANZAC spirit to leave his family and home life to go and fight overseas in harsh conditions to fight with for Australia with pride. He fought on the front line with courage, continued fighting through his illnesses and struggle with endurance, had strong ingenuity, mateship, and good humour.
ANZAC spirit is more than being a soldier, it is the spirit that lives inside every Australian and New Zealander, that it courageous, and endurant, ingenuity, good humoured and has a strong sense of mateship
