David Edward HARE nicknamed Sonny was the oldest child of Daivd Edward HARE and Annie ROBERTSON. Sonny was born in Carinda NSW (per his enlisted form. His birth in 1893 was registered in Warren NSW). The family had moved to Dubbo (NSW) when Sonny enlisted on the 31 July 1915.
The HARE family were living on Bultge Street, Dubbo in August 1916 when Private David Edward HARE was reported as missing (Source:Dubbo Dispatch - 22 August 1916, page 4, On TROVE).
David was listed as a Carter and was 22 years old when enlisted. There are reports on TROVE of a Daivd HARE attending St Aloysius High School in Dubbo on 1905 & 1907. Could be Sonny.
A photo of Sonny in uniform was sent to his Aunt Eliza May FLETCHER nee ROBERTSON (a younger sister of his mother Annie) and that photo has been handed down in the family.
