Great Sydney Central Station Honour Board
John Thomas FOOTE (Service Number 1529) was born in London in 1893. He had at one time been an apprentice dental mechanic but worked as a labourer in NSW. He was employed by the NSWGR, probably in the Permanent Way Branch, on the line between Ariah Park and Barellan in 1911.
In August 1914 he enlisted in the AIF at Kensington.
Sometime between 7 and 12 August he was killed in action at Gallipoli.

John Thomas FOOTE (Service Number 1529) was born in London in 1893. He had at one time been an apprentice dental mechanic but worked as a labourer in NSW. He was employed by the NSW Government Railways on the line between Ariah Park and Barellan in 1911.
In August 1914 he enlisted in the AIF at Kensington.
He was allotted to the 3rd Battalion. He left Sydney with them in October 1914 in the troopship ‘Euripides’. He went via Egypt to Gallipoli. He was wounded in action there on 10th July 1915. He was admitted to hospital at Mudros (on the Greek island of Lemnos) the following da. He was able to re-join his unit on 21st July.
Sometime between 7th and 12th August 1915 he was killed in action.
