He was 40.

He is one of two Australian soldiers honoured on the Canonbie war memorial in Dumfriesshire, Scotland. The inscription reads:

“To the glory of God
and in proud and grateful remembrance of
all those who gave their lives for
their king and country
and for the freedom of the nation
in the Great War 1914 - 1919
especially those of this parish.
Whose names are…………..”

The other one is Private Isaac Graham, aged 29, Service Number 2158, of the 5th Bn. Australian Infantry, A.I.F., who died 14/02/1917.
