Sid Hill-Smith and Tom Hardy both SA Returned Soldiers lost their lives in the 1938 Kyeema Air Disaster in the Dandenong Ranges in Victoria. Fom his home in the Yalumba winery 150 cars made their way to the cemetery. Sixty Returned Soldiers formed a Guard of Honour.  The coffin was carried by S Jolly, H Yates, C Mattheson,  J Holden, A Mader, S Wheeler.  A Collection was made and a memorial tablet was to be placed in the Roseworthy Agricultural College.
