Son of Hugh Urquhart and Margaret Louisa Urquhart nee McLean of Mumulgum, Richmond River, NSW formelry of Casino, NSW.
Brother of Finley Urquhart who was killed in action at Bullecourt on 11 April 1917 while serving with the 15th Battalion and has no known grave. His name appears on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial and also Thomas Malcolm Urquhart who returned to Australia on 18 February 1918 having served with the 41st Battalion.
2 March 1918 - enlisted at Brisbane, QLD, with the Queensland Reinforcement 3 ad with the rank of Private.
29 July 1918 - transferred to the 9th Battalion
28 Decmeber 1918 - transferred to the Australian Corps Headquarters.
23 July 1919 - commenced return to Australia aboard HT Suevic disembarking on 10 September 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane
